Andrei Starinets
Research Interests
I am a University Lecturer in Theoretical Physics at the University of Oxford. I work mostly on applications of string theory to strongly interacting quantum field theories at finite temperature and density. This set of applications is known as "gauge-string duality".
I have been at Oxford's Department of Physics since October 2008 and am also a tutorial fellow in physics at St John's college. Prior to that my world-line has passed through the Institute for Advanced Study, U.Southampton, Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, Institute for Nuclear Theory, Columbia U., New York University, and my Alma Mater, Moscow State University.
