Micro-workshop on analytic properties of thermal correlators at weak & strong coupling

"Micro-workshop on analytic properties of thermal correlators at weak & strong coupling"

6 -8 March 2017, Physics Department, Oxford University

-

The main goal of the workshop is to share ideas and results concerning an analytic structure of thermal correlators (in equilibrium and beyond), coming from holography, lattice and perturbative QFT/kinetic theory. We would like to clarify for ourselves what the state of the art is, and in what directions, if any, further progress is possible. Ideally, we would like to understand, at least in principle, how the weak and strong coupling results merge at intermediate coupling, forming a complete picture. We plan to allocate 2 hours altogether for each talk and subsequent discussion. The talks cannot be longer than 90 min (but can be shorter in favor of the discussion time). We would like all speakers to be as pedagogical as possible and include a gentle introduction and an overview of the state of the art situation, avoiding, if at all possible, overly sophisticated technical details.
