Andrei Starinets

I am Professor of Physics at the Rudolph Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics and Fellow of St John's College at the University of Oxford.

I work mostly on applications of string theory to strongly interacting quantum field theories at finite temperature and density. This set of applications is known as "gauge-string duality". My publications can be found here.

I have been at Oxford's Department of Physics and St John's college since October 2008. Prior to that my world-line has passed through the Institute for Advanced Study , U.Southampton , Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics , Institute for Nuclear Theory , Columbia U. , New York University , and my Alma Mater, Moscow State University .

My CV (updated in 2021) is here .

Oxford String Theory Group page is here.
