In mean field theory Ising spin 1/2 and Heisenberg spin 1/2 actually behave the same way. Starting with |
Si dot Sj = Szi Szj + Sxi Sxj + Syi Syj
Let us say we are looking at site i, then Sj becomes . In mean field, this average spin points in only one direction (which we can choose to be z) in which case
Si dot = Szi < Szj>
