Michael Barnes holds the Oxford-Culham Fusion Research Fellowship in the Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics at the University of Oxford; he is also a College Lecturer at Trinity College. He received his B.S. in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Arkansas in 2003 and his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Maryland in 2008. Dr. Barnes' primary research interest is magnetized plasma turbulence, with an emphasis on turbulent transport in magnetic confinement fusion devices.
