Hi,
I was wondering whether you could clarify something for me in Q2 of the 2006 paper (also very similar Q: Q2 on 1996 paper)
The question first describes a 1D monatomic chain, then asks you to derive the low T Debye heat capacity for a 3d solid and then asks you to use the Debye model to show that at low T the average phonon energy is a linear function of T.
Am I correct in thinking that the final part of this question is again referring to the 1D chain (as the 3d debye model gives
Also, in the 2006 paper, is it ok to leave answers in terms of integrals?
Thanks!
Indira
