Larmor diamagnetism

I'm wondering what in general you should take rho as when calculating susceptibility using eq. 19.13. For instance in question 2 of problem sheet 5 you have manganese which has 20 electrons in closed subshells, so would it be correct to take rho=20*number density of Mn atoms?
