This is good! I spent a while thinking about geometric interpretations but gave up when I realized that the planes are equally spaced along both the directions we're considering. So I'm trying to figure out why we can consider the spring constants as alternating along [111], is it because the distances between atoms on neighbouring planes alternates from plane to plane in this direction?... is that even true!? |
