Missing overcounting factor 1/2 in Hamiltonian H_i (mean field theory)

I wasn't able to follow you today when you explained why there is no (overcounting-)factor of 1/2 in front of the J in the Hamiltonian H_i in mean field theory. Isn't the 'definition' of H_i that if we sum over all i we get H back again? We spoke about that in our tutorial a few days ago and our tutor came to the conclusion that the missing factor is most likely an error...
