Rhys Davies

Rhys Davies I am currently a graduate student in the theoretical particle physics group at the University of Oxford, working on string theory and related topics under the supervision of Andre Lukas and Xenia de la Ossa. I previously completed my B.Sc. and M.Sc. at the University of Melbourne.

I am also a Class A Lecturer at St. Catherine's College, Oxford, where I teach third year atomic and sub-atomic physics.

Research

All research papers I have written can be found here (opens in a new window).

Various talks I have given, along with the slides (in .pdf format):

  • "Quotients of the conifold in compact Calabi-Yau varieties."
University of Liverpool, 25th November 2009. (slides)

  • "Topology change in string theory."
Beyond Part III (Young Researchers in Mathematics 2009), 17th April 2009. (slides)

  • "New Calabi-Yau manifolds with small Hodge numbers."
University of Oxford, 13th October 2008. (slides)

The two theses I wrote at the University of Melbourne:
