I am Professor of
Theoretical Physics at the University of Oxford,
and have a broad interdisciplinary set of interests,
including self-assembling DNA, theories of evolution, the dynamics of soft matter,
machine learning and applications of algorithmic information theory. I happily collaborate with biologists, chemists,
computer scientists, mathematicians, philosophers and theologians.
One of my hobbies is molecular gastronomy, applying science to the art of cooking. See
these pictures from a dinner I threw for our group.
On a lighter note, my Erdos-Bacon number is 6. I have an Erdos number of 4 through Jonathan Doye and I have a Bacon number of 2 through Morgan Freeman.
