Animations for 'Holographic zero sound at finite temperature' The following animations show the movement of the dominant pole of the current-current correlator in the strongly-coupled field theory on the (3+1) dimensional intersection of the D3/D7 brane system (as described in this paper) as the temperature is changed. The parameter \dtilde is the inverse temperature cubed. As the temperature is raised, the propagating zero sound modes approach each other and collide on the imaginary axis to form two purely imaginary modes, one of which is the hydrodynamic diffusion mode. This is the collisionless/hydrodynamic crossover. It is qualitatively the same for both massless and massive hypermultiplets. |
